Back in 2012 I was going through a difficult point in my life, and decided I wanted to try and gain some new skills. I have always been a tactile person and so I booked myself onto a weekend “introduction to massage”. At the end of the course, the tutor pulled me to one side and told me I had to sign up for the qualification. She had seen something in me.
So, I signed up to do my VTCT Level 3 in Body massage. I had the same tutor who had taken the weekend course. I passed every assessment with flying colours and loved with the feeling of helping people.
At the end of the course that same tutor signed me up to do my VTCT Level 3 in Thai massage without much discussion. I have to say I owe her a huge debt of gratitude because I fell in love with Thai massage.
I have since done lots of other qualifications and CPD days, all to ensure my knowledge and skills provide the best for my clients.
Over the years I have seen huge positive impacts on my clients because of receiving regular therapy and helping people realise that they can be capable of living pain free, has been my driving force. Thai massage especially is great for this and really shows people that it’s not our “bodies getting old” which forces us to develop aches and pains but more a result of modern-day life. Once this is figured out then we can start to do something to improve this and help you live a pain free life.
My mission is to change how people perceive massage therapy. Instead of seeing it as a luxury to only get once a year it should be as vital part of your holistic health as going to the gym, eating well, seeing the doctor when you get sick, or going to the dentist. The ongoing and lasting effects of regular massage therapy don’t just stop at the end of the session.
The wellbeing for your body can lasts weeks and there have even been studies quoting regular massage therapy can have a huge impact on how we deal with everyday stress, how we sleep, relieving chronic pain, increasing or maintaining mobility, easing muscle tension and generally improve our mental health.
